Sweater/Scarf Combo

Can't wait until it's cold enough to wear this:

3/4 Sleeve Dress

Other than loving this color (I'm a winter), I love how warm this dress seems. This material is viscose and polyamide - meaning the fabric is super strong, which is awesome for all the women who don't dry-clean clothes, women whose children wipe their noses on our sleeves. Practical = awesome.

You can find these at H&M by clicking here.

First Cardigan of the Season

The thing I love most about autumn (other than the trees and weather, of course) is that we can layer clothes again.

Found all these puppies at Target.com. The reason I like Target is because they're relatively reasonable, and their clothes are really quality. The clothes I have from Target last long enough for me to get sick of them, which is saying a lot. Go get this outfit now!

Local Oregon Designer

So, autumn is upon us, which is SO EXCITING! Fall/winter/spring clothes are so much more fun than summer clothes (in my opinion - and I'm always right).

To start autumn off right, I'm featuring a Henley by Rofe Designs.

This would be great with a salmon tank underneath, or even a green one.

H&M Outfit

I found this outfit on H&M.com. This top is polyester, which might sound bad, but this means it's wrinkle-resistant, durable, and retains color really well. Enjoy!

To find this shirt, click here.

This skirt would go amazingly well with this top, and has a built-in belt (bonus). It's also a mix of cotton and elastane, so it's great for summer, and stretches really well.

A Dress with Curves

I found this dress on JCrew and fell in love with it. This dress would look awful on me (and this model, for that matter) because I have no curves to speak of, but this would look great on a fuller girl with great curves!

This sash would look amazing with this dress:

Sailor Shirt

Keeping up with this current sailor trend, I found this lovely top on Downeast Basics. This comes in navy blue and white, too. And I LOVE the rope tie for a belt! This would look great with some jean bermuda style shorts! Oh, and some Toms. Can't forget the Toms.

Blouse

This blouse from Etsy is so perfect! The color, the pattern, the necklace detail sown into the dress. It's chiffon, so it'll be great for this warm weather. This would look great over your bootcut or skinny jeans!

Girls Dress

I've heard friends complain a lot about not being able to find modest clothing for their young daughters. I've noticed a huge change in girl clothing as of late, and decided I would do a blog post frequently for frustrated moms!

Great things about this dress: It's Guess, so you know it's great quality. The fabric is light weight, perfect for summer, but also durable. It's MACHINE WASHABLE - seriously, why would they ever make kid clothes that aren't? It also got rave reviews on their website - BONUS! Oh, and did I mention it's $20?

Dress of the Day

Overstock.com is probably the easiest place to shop clothing, because it gives you several categories to choose from. Example: I searched women's dresses, and then searched cap sleeve dresses under that category, so I didn't get a single sleeveless dress! Makes life easier, when 70% of summer dresses are sleeveless.

This dress is 97% cotton, which means it'll be great in the summer time! It's unlined, which would be an issue of you got the off-white dress, but for the rest of them, you should be fine not wearing a slip. Also, as you can see, it comes in several colors (although I think black is the cutest).

To find this dress, click here.

Although this dress already comes with a belt that ties, I thought it'd be fun to style it with a sash such as this one from Etsy.com. They come in several different colors and styles.

Reader Request

Recently, one of our readers (Kelly Ward - she does photography and is amazing - check her out on Facebook) asked to find a cap sleeve maxi dress with an empire waist. Even though it sounds easy enough to find, it took me forever to find one that wouldn't cost my entire life-savings. One great thing about this dress (other than the fact that it's gorgeous) is that the fabric - viscose, the most common form of rayon - is great for warm weather. So bring on that sun! No seriously, please bring on the sun.

To find this dress, click here.

Tunic

The pattern on this tunic is gorgeous, and the way it drapes would flatter anyone's figure (all of our mommy tummies rejoice!). This top is polyester, which means it's super durable, has high color retention (to withstand our kids' grubby little mitts), and is wrinkle resistant (...I'm lazy.. 'nuff said). I looked at the sizing, and it runs a little big - so just keep that in mind if you choose to purchase!

To find this top, click here.

This top looks like it would be a little flimsy around the neck line, so I think layering it with a Downeast Tee would be smart. This was the only picture I could find on their site, but they have a color called "oyster" that would match well.

To find this tee, click here.

Dress of the Day

This dress has a modern, sophisticated feel to it. It's also a Rayon/Polyester/Spandex blend, which means it's great for warm weather (if we ever get any), and is super durable (so it will last for years). The neutral color also means you can change your accessories and shoes to match your mood/occasion. Happy styling!

ANOTHER Lace Shirt

Okay but seriously, this shirt's a little bit different than the others, I swear. This shirt is also from Yesstyle.com. These Asian designers can do no wrong in my eyes (well, they DO have some craziness on their website, but that can be forgiven).

My favorite part about this blouse (besides lace) is the jeweled neckline. It adds such an elegant touch to any outfit.

This outfit is a great way to style this blouse. I never would have put the two together.

Dress of the Day

Yesstyle is one of my favorite online stores for two reasons: They have a ton of chiffon clothing (always flattering), and they have 5-10 different pictures of each piece of clothing. This makes it possible to see the clothing while the model is sitting, standing, etc, which is so important when buying something online!

Necessity Tees

One thing every woman canNOT do without is a basic cap sleeve t-shirt. I wear one of these under basically everything. My brand of choice is Shade, but I've heard good things about Downeast, Modbe, and Modbod. Go out. Get them. They're wonderful.

To find this shirt, click here.

Dress of the Day

I know I've mentioned before that I'm absolutely obsessed with lace, but I'm obsessed with lace! I've never heard of this designer before, but this dress is absolutely elegant - and white looks so good on our newly tanned skin (being summer and all). Also, it's lined, so no worries about your undies peaking through.

Dress of the Day

I saw someone in Nordstrom not too long ago with a casual black maxi dress, and have been searching for one ever since. It looked so comfortable and elegant at once, and I must have it! I finally found a dress that comes close to what I saw - and what do you know, it's totally doable.

This dress is from Express (love that store), and is made of Rayon and Spandex, which will keep you cool in the summer time. I also love the rouching on the sleeves, such a nice, feminine touch. Best of all - it's on sale! Less than $50. Get it. Now.

Dress of the Day

One thing I miss about Utah is Dillard's. They always have such a wide selection for every type of lifestyle, which is amazing, because most stores definitely don't do that. This dress is the perfect example! It's so feminine, and is so summery, AND is so modest.

The only thing this dress needs is a belt to define your waist, which I included (from Dillard's also).

Colorful Shorts

Nothing takes me to heaven quite like the Talbots catalog. A miracle just happened, these shorts are actually affordable! Maybe the end of the world IS coming. While wearing shorts with heels is not quite practical, pairing these colorful shorts with a skinny khaki belt and khaki shirt is genius. All this outfit needs is a pair of flats or flip flops!

Fat Shirts

You know when you're going on a date, so you want to look super cute, but then you're going to Olive Garden, where you know you're going to eat yourself into a coma? Yeah, I didn't think I was the only one. Well, worry no further! This fat shirt is going to solve all your problems. Flowy shirts are a great way to look thin while consuming what will end up being a food baby. They conceal everything! Aren't you so lucky I'm sharing my secrets with you?

Other benefits BESIDES making you look great (even after eating pasta): This top is by Elle, which means it's great quality. It's chiffon, and what's not to love about that! AND it'll look great with your skinny jeans.

Dress of the Day

The dress below is fabulous for tucking anything you're uncomfortable about, OR creating curves where there are none! Anthropologie cannot be beat for their quality and style. Their fabrics are super soft, and keep their color forever. This dress also comes in Navy, for all you winters out there.

To find this dress, click here.

Bermuda Shorts

The Nordstrom Semi-annual sale is back! Shoppers rejoice! I added a few things today to amp you up for summer. These white shorts below come in several colors, but this color is my favorite. And because it's white, it's lined, so no need to worry about anything showing other than your sparkling personality!

To find these shorts, click here.

White Shirt

Is summer on anyone else's mind? The top below is PERFECT for summer. It can be dressed down with a pair of bermuda shorts to go to the park, or some nice jeans (and stilettos) for a date night. It's light-weight cotton fabric, AND - best of all - it's machine wash! Oh, and did I mention it's on sale at Nordstrom? Bonus.

Dress of the Day

Definitely in LOVE with this dress. Macy's always has a small collection of modest dresses (which is greatly appreciated). The pattern is beautiful, the material is jersey-knit, so it's sure to be super comfortable. And it has a boat neck to boot! This dress can do no wrong in my eyes!

Yellow Skirt

Being that it's springtime and all, I'm pretty sure a yellow skirt will make me feel better amidst all this rain! This yellow skirt made my day with the bow and ruffles. I LOVE the fit. Sometimes high waisted skirts can be bulky, but this one fits amazingly well! It's also at the Modbod, so you'd be supporting a company that supports the modest-loving woman :)

Click here to find this skirt.

This lace shirt would be the perfect fit for the skirt. To find it, click here.

Target Tee

Okay, so I'm not even going to pretend to be a sports' fan (b/c I'm DEFINITELY not), but these t-shirts from Target are a must have. They have great structure (which means they don't hug those problems areas in the tummy). AND the v-neck isn't super low - meaning you don't have to wear any type of camisole or tee underneath it. This is a huge deal to me, because it's hot enough in the summer, without having to layer on the clothes!

To find this shirt, click here.
There are plenty of different styles available.

Flirty Top

I absolutely love the flirty sleeve look, but can't often find one I can wear without wearing a tee underneath. I found this little number on Modbe, so rest assured, this one is 100% tee safe!

Maxi Skirt

Until now, I've never seen a maxi skirt that has been remotely cute. They always seem so frumpy to me! If you really want a (cute) maxi skirt for summer, look no further:

Love the neutral colors and the pattern. I also love how the fabric seems to still give the body shape.

Check out the entire outfit here. It's definitely worth saving your pennies for! Wouldn't it look good with a Shade pink and brown shirt underneath this shirt?

CAbi Party!

My Grandma Hudson was in town (Medford) this past weekend, and threw a CAbi party for us to enjoy! CAbi stands for Carol Anderson by design. You might recognize her name, because her designs used to be in Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, etc.

We got to try on tons of clothes. It was seriously so much fun! I felt like I had a fashion binge :)

I loved most of the clothes, but these jeans were my favorite:

They're called the Lulu jean. It feels AMAZING, but the material is thick enough to keep its shape (aka, it makes your butt look really, really good). Also, what I LOVE about these jeans,a and makes them worthy of this blog, is the fact that the back of the jean is a butt higher than the front. Bonus! This means when you bend over, sit, anything of the sort, there's no need to constantly pull your pants up. You can go to the site here.

Ruffle Skirt - Below the Knee To Boot!

This ruffled skirt style has intrigued me from the get-go, but I can never find one that's not a mini-skirt. Well, look no further:

To find this skirt, click here.

Found this at Etsy (website is explained in the previous post), and I'm so excited to save up for it. This could be paired with so many different things. The possibilities are endless!

Comfy Summer Dress

Okay, so this model freaks me out, but I'm in love with this casual dress!

Click here to see other views of this dress.

If you haven't been to Etsy.com yet, you NEED to check it out! You can find everything from bows, to head bands, to dresses, to anything else crafty. It's AMAZING.

Summer Blouse

Modest summer blouses are basically impossible to find, so I was so excited when I say this at JC Penney yesterday:

Beach Outfit

The best part of summer (aside from the SUN) is definitely the beach. I'm so excited, I compiled a beach outfit that I'm pumped about!

Enjoy:

Cardigan from Talbots. Shirt from Victoria's Secret.

Pants from Guess. Sandals from Payless.
